Built from Scratch, Driven by Purpose

Re4m started from basically nothing; an old retail display unit, a jigsaw and hacksaw from Kijiji, some plastic scrap pieces, and a can of black spray paint. What began as a small side project has grown, more than eight years later, into an award-winning design and manufacturing studio with a mission rooted in sustainability.

Re4m (pronounced Reform) was founded in 2016 by Heather Jeffery, who at the time was working as a graphic designer at a local retail boutique.

“I didn’t plan on starting a business that recycled ‘waste’ into new products,” Heather says. “But while I was working for a retailer, I had an environmental revelation.”

That moment came when Heather noticed old displays being tossed into a dumpster, which were still in good condition, just no longer trendy. When she asked why, the answer was, “It’s just easier this way.” That simple response stuck with her. She realized this wasn’t an isolated case and many businesses were doing the same thing, sending usable materials straight to landfill.

Determined to find a better way, she brought those discarded displays home and turned them into eight unique light boxes. Those early experiments sparked what would become Re4m, a company built on creativity, resourcefulness, and a deep respect for the environment.

Over the years, Re4m has evolved. While we don’t do as much salvaging or upcycling of old items as we once did, our commitment to sustainability remains at the core of everything we do. Today, we carefully select materials with low environmental impact such as recycled plastics, reclaimed wood, and eco-friendly finishes  and apply thoughtful fabrication methods that keep waste to a minimum.

From humble beginnings to a thriving studio, Re4m continues to be guided by the same belief that started it all: that design can be both beautiful and responsible.

OUR MISSION
